Daniele Dell’Agnola
Even grubs can fly
Novel

12-year-old Felix lives in a city suburb. He’s a wild, restless, hyperactive boy, who delights in culture and hates going to school. He can’t stand Marcello Porcello, the son of his clumsy paediatrician who prescribes him huge amounts of methylphenidate. When Felix refuses to go to school, a horde of psychologists, educators, doctors and experts start analysing him. He gloomily calls them the “dragrey dragons”.
When he meets Alice, a mysterious, cheerful girl, a metamorphosis begins. Felix and his friends will go through adventures and tragic accidents and they will discover sex, experiencing for the very first time a will to challenge and question themselves, to go beyond: in one word, the will to fly.

Daniele Dell’Agnola was born in 1976. He studied Italian literature and Musicology at the University of Freiburg, where he graduated in 2000. He had a career as a high school teacher and he currently teaches at middle school. Since 2012 he has held courses about fiction writing, writing techniques and reflections on language at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUSPI).
